Phone2Action is a grassroots social advocacy platform that develops mobile, web, and voice tools to connect elected officials, politicians, city council members, nonprofits, lobby groups, and federal agencies to their supporters. The platform's digital services include advocacy via advertising, social media and phone calls. Phone2Action integrates with other grassroots platforms, like NationBuilder. The company's mission is to make it easy for the public to find and contact key members of organizations and political causes they care about. Phone2Action puts mobile tools to connect with relevant people and causes in the public’s hands while they are at a conference, event or rally. [5]

Headquartered in Washington D.C., Phone2Action was founded by Ximena Hartsock, Jeb Ory, and Patrick Stoddart. Ximena came up with the idea while living in California. She was looking for a technical partner at the time, when she met Jeb Ory.  The duo moved their idea to Kansas City and joined the accelerator Think Big Partners.  There they met Patrick Stoddart who they invited to join as a co-founder. In 2013, Phone2Action Phone2Action was selected as one of eight finalists out of hundreds of companies to present at the SXSW Accelerator competition.  Co-founder Jeb Ory pitched and won the news technologies category, receiving a $4,000 check for the company, and $26,000 in support services. [6]  Phone2Action then launched the 2.0 version of their platform at 1776 in Washington, D.C. in December of 2013 with a live demo of how an organizer can launch a campaign, observe its impact in realtime, and then see which individual advocates who took action, and who to target for support before critical votes.
