Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, Nvite was founded in 2013 by Twitter alum and Canvas Co/work founder Martin Ringlein. Martin wanted to fill the gap in the event registration market to make it easier for small corporate clients and other planners to find an easy event ticketing solution. [4] In 2104,  the company raised a $1 million round of seed financing led by Paul Singh’s Crystal Tech Fund. Nvite launched its private beta in February of 2014, and has sold tickets for events in over 36 US cities and 16 countries, including SXSW 2014. [2] Nvite currently operates in 16 countries, including Colombia, Ukraine, Ireland, India, Australia, Japan and China. In 2015, the company plans to focus on increasing its revenue via partnerships. Its recent $20 million sale in tickets was secured through their five partner companies, including Reston-based health IT company Wedi and Jose Andre's Think Food Group. The company also plans to expand its model to consumers for events like birthday parties and happy hours.
