Overview

Contactually is a lightweight Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool that aggregates a user's emails and social networks into a new address book, analyzes the user's conversation history for each relationship, and prompts the user via email to follow up with crucial messages and contacts. Users control how often they want to receive the prompts, which are by default sent each morning with tasks to complete, and once in the evening with details on new contacts. [1] While Contactually can function as a full CRM Solution, it was originally designed to supplement rather than replace enterprise CRM and can integrate with users' current CRM. [2]

History

Based in Washington D.C., Contactually was founded on October 2011 by Zvi Band, Tony Cappaert and Jeff Carbonella. Currently, Contactually has over 7,500 clients in 100 countries, and $3.5 million in seed funding. [15]  The startup debuted its product at 500 Startups' Demo day in January 2012, and received its initial funding of $50, 000 from the incubator prior to the additional investors.  In 2013, the company announced its partnership and integration with Do.com, Salesforce’s task management platform. [8]  On November 4, 2014, Contactually secured $2 million in additional seed money on top of the $1.5 million from 2013, bringing a total of $3.5 million in seed funding. Investors include Boston Seed, Nine Point Capital, 500 Startups, Middlebridge Partners, Middleland Capital, and several undisclosed angel investors. [14]
