Overview

Aquicore is an energy management platform that combines hardware and software to analyze water and gas consumption in real time so that commercial building owners can make their energy use more efficient. Aquicore’s platform centralizes critical energy data and offers data visualization to help commercial real estate property managers and landlords make timely decisions that improve staff productivity, reduce energy waste, increase tenant satisfaction and meet strategic energy goals. The company has three main products:

  • AQ-Optimization - integrates metering and sub-metering data for performance optimization
  • AQ-Tenant Billing - tenant invoicing platform
  • AQ-Enterprise - integrates all its products into one platform

History

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., Aquicore was founded on October 1, 2012 by Logan Soya. At age 29, Logan decided to launch Aquicore after getting his MBA at Georgetown and London Business School. [7] Logan, who began in the Telecom space, knew the importance of fixing broken parts quickly, and saw an opportunity to implement this approach to energy use in commercial buildings. For the first 1.5 years after founding the company, he knew he needed a strong understanding of his customers to build Aquicore. To validate his business model, Logan met weekly with 30 industry leaders in the energy sector including landlords, property managers, and building service vendors like cable companies. [2] In January of 2014, Aquicore moved into the enterprise technology accelerator Acceleprise to gain access to mentors, venture capitalists, and funding. [6] By the beginning of 2014, the company had installed 70 new energy monitors for private clients and for the city of Washington D.C. [4] In the same year, Logan was recognized as one of Biznow's 30 under 40 entrepreneurs and the company won $10,000 and second place at the Distilled Intelligence 2.0 pitch competition. [6] [7]
