Overview

MicroStrategy is a business intelligence platform that provides integrated reporting, analysis, and monitoring software that enables companies to analyze the data stored across their enterprise to inform their business decisions.  The company’s software performs analytics on data like sales figures,[7] payroll data,[8] and inventory.[9][10]  MicroStrategy delivers actionable information to business users via e-mail, web, and mobile devices, including the iPhone, iPad, and BlackBerry.  With direct operations in 27 countries worldwide and approximately 3,200 employees MicroStrategy provides scalable platforms for analytics, mobile, identity and loyalty—offered either on premises or in the cloud. 

History 

Headquartered in Virginia, MicroStrategy  (Nasdaq: MSTR) was founded in 1989 by X.  The company has over 80 patents issued and serves millions of users at nearly 4,000 companies across 20 industries globally.

2011: Rated top mobile BI offering out of 24 product offerings in the Howard Dresner Mobile BI Survey
